Current job? Working the 8:00 pm to 8:00 am shift at the fruit stand on the corner of Greenwich and Chambers.

Wait, you mean this fruit stand is open 24 hours? Yes.

How many customers do you get a night? On average about 10.

Do you get bored? Yes.

What do you do? Read or listen to music.

What happens when you need to go to the bathroom? (Pointing to the 24 hour McDonald’s across the street) I go there. My friend down the street, who has another fruit cart, watches my stand.

So you sleep during the day? Yes, seven or eight hours. I live in Queens so it takes an hour to get to work on the subway.

Future plans? I’m visiting the U.S. on a work-travel program. So I work for a bit longer here and then I hope to travel around New York. Maybe even Virgina Beach.
